So, here’s my challenge…
I am running 1000km across the width of Spain to raise money and support for The British Heart Foundation. I start this extraordinary challenge in May and running 20-25km a day, I hope to complete the run in two months. The route I have chosen is the Camino de Santiago that starts in St. Jean Pied de Port in France, going over the Pyrenees, along northern Spain and finishes in Santiago de Compostela. The original route is 790km but I will continue on to Finesterre and run back to Santiago to make 1000km. As an asthmatic, this is the ultimate fitness test that will help an incredible cause.
I want to do this for my friends, family and the thousands of amazing people who are affected by heart conditions, and show the world what can be achieved when people unite for an extraordinary cause. My father passed away from a heart attack at a young age, and growing up without a father has made me want to help make a difference in any way I can. I want to raise support for The British Heart Foundation’s research into treatment of the heart, to help prevent premature deaths and help to improve the lives of children, heart patients and their families. The work that The British Heart Foundation do and my personal experiences with the effects of this tragedy has encouraged and inspired me to take on this challenge for those who aren’t physically able and to help people in similar situations. Although I am not a professionally trained athlete, I want to use my level of health and fitness as an opportunity to help others.
Thank you so much to those who have supported and helped me throughout this experience, I honestly could not do it without you.
